From Douro Dreams to Hunter Valley Reality
It began with a single moment of revelation at Quinta do Crasto in 2007. Standing amongst ancient, terraced vineyards carved into granite schist, watching the Douro River wind through valleys that have nurtured Touriga Nacional for centuries, we knew we had encountered something extraordinary.
What we didn't know was that we were embarking on an 18-year odyssey that would come to define the Hunter Valley understanding of Portugal's most noble grape variety.
Today, as we taste our current release Touriga Nacional alongside verticals dating back to some of our earliest vintages, the evolution is unmistakable. This isn't simply about growing Portuguese grapes in Australian soil—it's about cultural translationd, where every vintage has taught us something new about the delicate balance between honouring tradition and embracing terroir.
